Noto's NFL DFS Core Plays: Week 12
Week 11 Recap
This recap is either my favorite or least favorite piece of content I write, all depending on how I fared the prior week. I’ll start with the positive — Ja’Marr Chase scored a touchdown and was one of my core plays.
That’s it. A single positive from an entire week of DFS.
There was one point during the early games where I thought there was a good chance I wouldn’t record a single touchdown in my main lineups on both DraftKings and FanDuel. It’s important to look back each week and try to find flaws in the process. You never want to focus too much on the results because bad lineups win all the time and good lineups can fail to cash. My biggest mistakes were pivoting to the Ravens passing attack on Sunday morning after we got news that Lamar Jackson and Marquise Brown were going to be out. I decided to pair Tyler Huntley with Rashod Batemen in my main lineup on DraftKings, which essentially let me do whatever I wanted with the rest of my lineup.
Looking back, a backup quarterback on the road in a low total game on a week with a ton of value was unnecessary. Spotting these mistakes can help us prevent them from happening again. Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I can’t be too upset with deciding to use A.J. Dillon and Jeff Wilson as core plays, as they both saw a ton of volume in good matchups. They didn’t end up getting there, but were still strong plays in theory. The same goes for Michael Gallup, as the entire Cowboys offense was a letdown in Week 11. Here’s to hoping Week 12 be can more like Week 10 than Week 11.
