Noto's NFL DFS Core Plays: Week 4
Week 3 Recap
I’m not going to lie… I’ve been looking forward to writing this introduction since Sunday evening. I know many of you are here to read about my Week 3 failures, but I have some bad news — Week 3 was by best NFL week in a long time. Despite the urge to late swap off my main lineup on DraftKings, I learned from my mistake in Week 2 resisted the urge. I finished in the top 2-3% of the contests I was in and could have really had a special week if T.J. Hockenson would have had a better game. On FanDuel, I took fourth in the 500-man OG Contest (which you can join here for $7). I also had my first week above .500 on my spread and total picks. The core plays crushed, my Stafford/Kupp stacks worked wonders, and I finally picked good defenses. I got quite a few messages and Tweets from RG members, so I hope you all had a good week as well.
I’m not here to gloat. Well, maybe a little because the first two weeks were brutal. But the point of my weekly recap is to try to improve the process as much as possible. I am forcing myself to look back at the prior week, which many DFS players don’t take the time to do. It’s easy to have a bad slate, erase it from your memory, and move on to the next one. However, if we can learn from what we did wrong and what we did right, we can improve our bottom line over the course of the season. When coming off of good weeks, it’s important to not over-extend your bankroll the following week and to not think you are the smartest person in the room. It sounds simple, but resisting the urge to turn those winnings into 10x what you have is tough at times.
Stay in your lane, stay on the grind, and realize that we still have 15 weeks to go in the regular season.
