Week 10
As always, let’s quickly take a look back at what happened last week. Thankfully, I got onto Justin Fields instead of Aaron Rodgers and Geno Smith late last week. If you read this article, make sure to come back on Sunday morning and check out the updates section above. This is where I give my final thoughts on each slate. I couldn’t quite afford Josh Allen in my main build and noted that I would rather chase the upside of Fields over the safety of Rodgers and Smith. I clearly wasn’t alone in this thought, as Fields ended up being one of the highest-owned quarterbacks of the slate. However, he was enough to make the week a profitable one.
The big story heading into Week 10 is the injuries to key quarterbacks on the slate. Josh Allen is trending toward missing the game against the Vikings, Matthew Stafford has yet to clear concussion protocol, and Kyler Murray is shaping up to be a game-time decision. This not only impacts the choices we have at quarterback, but it could cause big hits to the fantasy production of three of the best receivers on the slate in Stefon Diggs, Cooper Kupp, and DeAndre Hopkins. By the way, has anyone watched the in-season Hard Knocks with the Cardinals? I can’t get enough of that show.
I could always change my strategy in the next couple of days, but I am leaning toward spending up at running back and spending down at wide receiver. This was my strategy back when David Johnson and Le’Veon Bell were breaking every slate and I might have to go back to it this week. Don’t call it a comeback, but #TeamJamEmIn could be in play this week at running back.
