Week 16 – Christmas Day Slate
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! We typically only get an NBA slate on December 25th, but we get football and basketball this season. We must have been very good girls and boys. Ok, ok, that sounded weird. After dodging illnesses and sicknesses all fall and most of the month, it has finally caught up with me. My little one has a bad sinus infection and pink eye and naturally, I started feeling under the weather two days before Christmas. It may not be what I had planned, but I will make the most of it. There are certainly worse things than being stuck at home watching basketball and football all day.
The NFL had to feel good about their Christmas Day slate at the start of the season. Russell Wilson with his new team taking on the defending Super Bowl champs, a battle between an up-and-comer in Kyler Murray and one of the all-time greats in Tom Brady, and a potential shootout between two high-powered offenses in the Packers and Dolphins. Unfortunately, three of the six starting quarterbacks on these teams have been ruled out and we might only see one or two playoffs team between the bunch. This is an ugly slate for sure, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it. Similar to the Thanksgiving slate, this is the best time to maximize the late swap feature.
