Week 2 Core Plays
As mentioned last week, I want this article to be as transparent as possible. To be honest, it was a great Week 1 for the core plays. Dalvin Cook had himself a nice outing with two touchdowns and Chris Carson paid off his salary thanks to two touchdowns, but I was certainly hoping for more out of Leonard Fournette and Chris Godwin. Granted, the Jaguars’ offense took a hit with Nick Foles getting ruled out after the first quarter, but Fournette wasn’t able to find the endzone. Godwin caught a touchdown pass late against the Niners, but only finished with three catches for 53 yards. We have to treat everything within the context of the slate and last week was one of the highest scoring weeks in recent memory. I’ll give myself a 5/10 for Week 1, which leaves plenty of room for improvement.
