Notorious' NFL DFS Core Plays: Week 8

I would love to take a victory lap on the core plays from Week 7, but it was one of the highest scoring weeks in the history of NFL DFS. The true value of a pick isn’t their raw fantasy production, it’s how well they perform compared to their peers. There were so many good plays last week that we’ll save the victory lap (hopefully for next week’s article). We could have a much different slate on tap in Week 8, as there aren’t nearly as many indoor or high total games on the schedule. We are still monitoring a number of injuries, but value is currently hard to come by.

Before we get into the picks for the week, I wanted to quickly touch on the weather. In general, people are hesitant to target games that have heavy wind, rain, or snow in the forecast. It’s taken some time, but we now know rain and snow have very little effect on scoring and on fantasy production. The biggest impact has always been the wind and we have a lot of it in the forecast this week. The following games are all expected to have 20+ MPH sustained winds:

I will be keeping a close eye on Kevin Roth’s weather page throughout the week. As always, make sure to check back here on Sunday morning for my final update.

Gr8 article as always! I too am looking at Burrow. I have a sneaky suspicion this may be a huge week for AJ Greene. He is getting massive targets recently but has no TD’s to go along with his catches. If he has like a 2 TD game along with 10+ catches he could be GPP winner.

I am VERY concerned about the three starting offensive linemen for the bengals, who aren’t that good to begin with, how bad are the backups to the guys who aren’t that good?

Huge concern. Looking like it could be four offensive linemen now. I’m officially off of Joe Burrow and am downgrading the offense as a whole.
