Notorious' NFL DFS Core Plays: Week 8

I would love to take a victory lap on the core plays from Week 7, but it was one of the highest scoring weeks in the history of NFL DFS. The true value of a pick isn’t their raw fantasy production, it’s how well they perform compared to their peers. There were so many good plays last week that we’ll save the victory lap (hopefully for next week’s article). We could have a much different slate on tap in Week 8, as there aren’t nearly as many indoor or high total games on the schedule. We are still monitoring a number of injuries, but value is currently hard to come by.

Before we get into the picks for the week, I wanted to quickly touch on the weather. In general, people are hesitant to target games that have heavy wind, rain, or snow in the forecast. It’s taken some time, but we now know rain and snow have very little effect on scoring and on fantasy production. The biggest impact has always been the wind and we have a lot of it in the forecast this week. The following games are all expected to have 20+ MPH sustained winds:

I will be keeping a close eye on Kevin Roth’s weather page throughout the week. As always, make sure to check back here on Sunday morning for my final update.
