DraftKings has put a lot into its single-game Showdown contest, with $2.5M in total prize money ($1M to first) for the winner of the kickoff Thursday contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.
The new wrinkle players have to process is “Captain Mode”. The Captain (CPT) roster spot produces 1.5x the fantasy points of the other five FLEX positions, at 1.5x the cost.
In earlier articles, I went through the CPT and total roster counts by position for optimal rosters from historically similar matchups. In the CPT article, we found that QBs were the second highest allocation to WR1 for CPTs, and that the QB of the favorite team (Eagles in this case) being far more often the optimal choice at CPT.
