I love being able to play new sites with new formats and am thrilled that we have a new site breaking into the salary cap space. OwnersBox MLB DFS Format
What is up, Grinders! We are here to talk about OwnersBox. This site is very creative for the MLB, as it has given us what we’ve been craving for what feels like an eternity. We are getting incredible flexibility for all positions. It consists of 4 infield positions, 4 outfield positions, and a superflex, which will allow you to play any position including pitching. How many days have you wanted to play 5 1st basemen because of how deep the position is? OwnersBox is here to give you that fix and allow very creative lineup building. This is revolutionary for the DFS enthusiast, and I am here to talk through a handful of plays each week that I hope carry us to the finish line.
Top MLB DFS Picks for April 3rd
Cody Bellinger ($5,300)
The weather won’t be stellar in Chicago tonight, but Cal Quantrill is still ripe for the picking. Last season, he had an 18% K rate against lefties, with a 12.9% K rate overall. He was also walking lefties at a 14.8% clip. Let us not forget about all of that hard contact that he was giving up also. This is a great spot for Bellinger, who had a very low K rate against RHP last season and a .353 wOBA to match. I like him to churn out fantasy points in this spot tonight, and I expect Quantrill to make this easy for him.
Yordan Alvarez ($5,900)
This is a great spot for Alvarez. He has been fantastic against RHP, and Chris Bassitt, while having an okay K rate, struggles with hard contact in a big way. If the big hits are coming against him tonight, I suspect it’s one of Kyle Tucker or Alvarez to get it done. I’m siding with Alvarez and his .349 ISO and .444 wOBA from last season. I’m not saying he’s certainly hitting a home run, but I do think he should be able to put together quality at-bats, which hopefully result in some seriously positive outcomes for his fantasy points.
Cristian Javier ($8,300)
While Tyler Glasnow probably has the most strikeout upside on this slate, I think Javier is in the discussion as well. I also think he has some nice win equity here, which could add a few more points to his total in the end. If he can get through the order just like some of his comrades in this series, we would be looking at a really nice fantasy performance from him. Once again, I think Glasnow is the big arm to spend on, but with the discount we are getting, Javier seems like the perfect choice if just taking one pitcher.
We have a much smaller slate than what we will usually see, so the options we have are really good for a slate this size. Hopefully we put together some nice lineups and meet at the top of the leaderboards!
