I love being able to play new sites with new formats and am thrilled that we have a new site breaking into the salary cap space. It is my hope that from this content, we will have a few GPP-winning slips along the way. Thank you for joining me each week on the journey to 1st place!

OwnersBox MLB DFS Format

What is up, Grinders? We are here to talk about OwnersBox. This site is very creative for MLB, as it has given us what we’ve been craving for what feels like an eternity. We are getting incredible flexibility for all positions. It consists of a pitcher spot, 4 infield positions, 4 outfield positions, and a Superflex, which will allow you to play any position including pitching. How many days have you wanted to play 5 first-basemen because of how deep the position is? OwnersBox is here to give you that fix and allow very creative lineup building. This is revolutionary for the DFS enthusiast, and I am here to talk through a handful of plays each week that I hope carry us to the finish line.

Top MLB DFS Picks for Wednesday, May 1st

Nick Senzel – ($3,300)

I love Nick Senzel in this spot. For all intents and purposes, the Washington Nationals aren’t a team that people will be afraid of, but there will be spots where we can use them. I definitely think this is one of those times with Senzel. He had really good numbers against LHP last season, and in the small sample this season, he is crushing LHP yet again. Since the start of last season, he has a .300 ISO, a .445 wOBA, and just an 18% K rate. This is what I like look for in hitting matchups, and I think Senzel has a good opportunity to send one over the fence.

Kyle Tucker – ($5,600)

We have our first repeat contestant of the young MLB season. Kyle Tucker was HOT in the Mexico City series, and I think he has an opportunity to roll again tonight versus Triston McKenzie. He’s continuing to hit with good power (.188 ISO vs. RHP this season) and is also continuing to make good contact (just a 13.2% K rate). McKenzie has not had the most stellar of seasons, and although it’s early, I think this Houston offense as a whole should be overpowering. If McKenzie struggles with command, starts walking batters, and gives up hits, then Tucker will have a shot at tons of RBI potential. I love him for tournaments.

Corey Seager – ($6,100)

As much as I like some Nationals pieces tonight, I love the Rangers side of this game as well. Seager is one of the best hitters on this team, and he’s also one of the most consistent. He historically keeps a low K rate and hits for nice power. Last season and this season combined show a .285 ISO, .422 wOBA, and 13.7% K rate in PlateIQ. He also takes enough walks to continue to churn out fantasy points when the big hits aren’t coming. I love him in this spot against Trevor Williams, and Seager should have tons of opportunity to put together quality appearances at the plate with runners on the basepaths. Fire him up with confidence.

I love these spots for the bats, which is why I didn’t include any specific pitchers. I think this is how we win tonight on a very reasonable slate!
