PGA DFS Core Plays: The American Express

The American Express
It ended up being a profitable week, as I had a solid six in my main lineup on FanDuel and Kevin Na in my main lineup on DraftKings. If you watched the LineupHQ show with myself and Tambo or if you watched my PGA Model breakdown video, I hope a few of you tailed me on Na. He rated out extremely well in my comp course index and liked that he had played the Tournament of Champions the week before. It was quite an impressive finish, as he fell behind three shots with six holes to play. He then birdied his next three holes to take the lead and then birdied the 18th to win by a stroke. He has now won an event in each of the last five seasons.
This week we turn our attention to the American Express, which is usually a pro-am event that features a three-course rotation. Due to COVID, the tour decided to get rid of the pro-am format for this event and for the AT&T Pebble Beach. Without a need for three courses, this week will only have two in the rotation. The easiest of the three (La Quinta Country Club) will not be played this year. As such, the cut will now be after two rounds instead of three. Each golfer will play the Nicklaus Course and the Stadium Course before the cut is made. Then the final two rounds will be played at the Stadium Course, which has historically played the toughest of the three at this event.
