First of all, apologies to anyone that tailed me on Jordan Spieth last week. He was cruising through the first two rounds and pulled a full Keegan to MDF. I thought there was some promise in his play at the WGC event, but I suppose I was wrong.
The one note that I wanted to make this week in regards to strategy is that there are only 121 golfers in the field and the top 70 and ties will move on to play the weekend. This means that at least 60% of the field will make the cut, which is a lot higher than your typical tour event that features 156 golfers. This doesn’t mean that we should be targeting bad golfers and fully load up on the studs, but we should be targeting birdie makers over golfers whose main weapon is making the cut.
