AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Hello, PGA Grinders! With the NFL season down to just one big game left, more eyes will turn to the golf world as we move forward. We have large prize pools to target this week, and the contests could be a little softer than normal with NFL players utilizing the funds they won from Conference Championship week. As for the golf tournament, we have the second of the annual Pro-Am events at the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links on the agenda this week.
Like the American Express event a couple weeks ago, we have a usual three course rotation in the mix. Pebble Beach will be the host course, while each golfer will also play a round on Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula Country Club over the first three days. The cut will come after the third round, with the top 60 professionals making it to Sunday’s final round. That differs slightly from the cut rule at most events, because the top professional and amateur teams also make it to Sunday. Pebble Beach will host the final round for those making the cut. Monterey Peninsula almost always plays the easiest of the three courses, though Spyglass Hill tends to play easier on days where winds pick up. That should not come into play this year with winds projected at less than 10 MPH for each of the first three days of the tournament. Rain is also forecast for most of the event, so it might be a bit sloppy out there.
