RBC Heritage

Hey, Grinders! Welcome back to the PGA GPP breakdown for another golf event! While it’s understandable that there might be a little bit of a “hangover” this week after the big major a week ago and the victory for Tiger Woods, that doesn’t mean that we can take a breather in the golf DFS game. It’s right back to the ground for the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

As for this week’s event, it will be contested at Harbour Town Golf Links, a short par 71 course that is tight and tree-lined off the tee and has very small greens. The average measured distance of all the drives at this event a year ago was just 273 yards, showing that this is a course that values accuracy and shot placement moreso than hammering the ball off the tee. We don’t get to say this all that often with the current state of the courses that are used on the PGA Tour, but accuracy matters here. The greens are also some of the smallest that we see on Tour, so play around the greens is important. We can look at scrambling data and strokes gained around the green to find some targets in that capacity.
