Safeway Open
Hey, golf grinders! The fall swing is out in full force, and we have another fun event with the Safeway Open this week. This event used to break things in as the start of the fall swing, but last year’s schedule changes have pushed this back to the third event after the summer break. As a result, we have a much stronger field than what we usually see out in Napa. Silverado Resort and Spa’s North Course will play host fro the sixth straight edition.
As is the case with many courses that we see during the fall swing, this course does not require a ton of distance. Precision, ball striking, and touch around the greens will be rewarded on a par 72 layout that is much shorter than your average PGA Tour par 72 stop. Given the stronger field that we have this year combined with the fact that a lot of these shorter par fours will allow golfers to hit wedges for their second shots, we could see some good scoring if the weather cooperates.
