Safeway Open

Welcome to a new PGA season, golf grinders! The fall swing is out in full force… just three days after the previous season ended! We get things kick-started with the Safeway Open this week. Unfortunately, thanks to all the schedule changes, this event got sandwiched in between the Tour Championship and the U.S. Open. Since the U.S. Open is taking place all the way across the country, we have an EXTREMELY weak field for this event. It’s about as bad as I have seen in a couple years.

For reference, your current betting favorites are Si Woo Kim (who has been great of late but is often very inconsistent), Phil Mickelson (who is primarily going to be moving over to the Champions Tour), and Shane Lowry (who had one top ten finish all of last season). No golfer is priced at better than 20 to 1 odds to win as of Tuesday morning at the DK Sportsbook. This is going to be a wide open, unpredictable event.
