Hi again, golf fans! It feels like a long time since we’ve been together after a whole on week off! That feels like an eternity on the PGA Tour, as golf is a weekly grind throughout the year. It’s nice to have a week off to breathe and regroup, and it’s time to get back after it.
We have the Wells Fargo Championship down at Quail Hollow in North Carolina this week, and this course looks quite different these days. Although Quail Hollow has hosted this event for a long time, it was given two years ago in order to prepare for hosting the PGA Championship. Many renovations were done, so this course is playing with more bite now as a lengthy, par 71 layout. Driving distance and strokes gained off the tee are very important at this event, and multiple golfers are on record stating how important off the tee game is around this place. Good current form and some course history is a nice bonus, but make sure you ignore the data from 2017 since Quail Hollow did not host that year.
