PGA DFS GPP Breakdown: Workday Charity Open

Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top GPP golf targets for the coming week’s tournament, going over his favorite plays at various price ranges. Who better than PGA DFS master, STLCards, to help you on your way?

Workday Charity Open

Welcome back to another great week of DFS golf! Last week was a fun one, as four of the nine picks that I featured in this space played very well. That included DeChambeau (winner), Wolff (2nd), McNealy (8th), and Hovland (12th). That was huge on a week where only 3% of rosters got 6/6 golfers through the cut, marking the second straight week of carnage. The PGA Tour normally stops in Silvis, IL this week, but my beloved John Deere Classic has been canceled for 2020. As such, we will now see back-to-back events at Muirfield Village in Dublin, OH. It will be interesting to see how they handle setting up the course for back-to-back events. I do expect an easier setup this week with the weaker field that we have, before a tougher setup is used for the prestigious Memorial Tournament next week.

    Hi Justin,
I really need help with this. How do I know when someone is underpriced on DraftKings and under priced on FanDuel? Is there a template for what an equivalent price point for a golf in DraftKings will be for a golfer in FanDuel (Actually for all major sports). I just really need to get this down please. For example this week is Norlander salary better on DK or on FD. Any input will be great

FD and DK are largely pretty close when it comes to golf. It helps to compare to the average salary to spend per golfer (or player for other sports). That gives a nice target. In golf, for DK that is $8,333 and for FD that is $10,000, and then you can compare as a percentage if you like.

In any case, there are rarely huge differences with DK and FD now that FD has tightened their pricing a little.

Thanks, I think the Percentage of the cap makes sense to me. But since I’m not so confident in my math, I will have to ask you about one player: it seems like Nolander price on DK is more valuable than it is on FanDuel. If can put the salary cap calculation for both sites for Norlander that will be great so I can ensure I got it down. Sorry to bother you

    I have 13% and 13.33%

Hi Justin, great content as usual! Does Gary Woodland’s SG:OTT game and BS last two events worry you this week?

Yeah, largely the same here. I think it’s more valuable on DK since the salary cap is just a bit tighter — but there is not much difference.

It does a little bit, but we can attribute some of that to rust after the layoff. Woodland is a player who tends to get better the more often he plays, and his game is great for this course. He’ll be a key piece for me.
