Wyndham Championship

Welcome, golf fans! We have the final event of the regular season on tap for this week, with the FedEx Cup Playoffs beginning next week. It should be an action packed week of golf, and it will be difficult for the Wyndham to top the wild Sunday swings that we saw at last weekend’s WGC event in Memphis.

As for this week’s event, we can expect a birdie fest at Sedgefield Country Club for the Wyndham Championship. This is a relatively easy par 70 course, as it has played as one of the easier par 70 tracks on Tour for the last several years. The winning score has checked in at either -21 or -22 in each of the last five editions of this event. Par 70 courses usually don’t play as massive birdie fests, but that’s not the case with this one. It is worth noting that accuracy does take on some importance at this course, as the green in regulation numbers dip substantially for golfers who miss the fairway off the tee. I will not be weighting distance at all, as you will see a lot of players club down off the tee in order to try and hit more fairways. Current form and some course history are a nice bonus, especially when they intersect with one golfer.
