PGA DFS GPP Breakdown: ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP

Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top GPP golf targets for the coming week’s tournament, going over his favorite plays at various price ranges. Who better than PGA DFS master, STLCards, to help you on your way?

ZOZO Championship

Welcome back to the PGA DFS GPP breakdown! We have the ZOZO Championship this week, an event that will mark the start of this year’s Asian swing. This is a co-branded event between the PGA Tour and the Japanese Tour, so several slots in the field will go to top Japanese golfers. It will be another no cut event with 78 golfers in the field, just like we saw last week the The CJ Cup.

As for the host course for the event, Narashino Country Club’s Championship Course will be the host venue for the second time. It hosted back in 2019 before the COVID pandemic hit. Narashino is a unique par 70 layout that contains 10 par fours, 5 par threes, and 3 par fives. Par three scoring might factor in my decision making for one of the first times that I can remember. Outside of that factor, this is a relatively tight layout that does not require distance off the tee. In terms of comparisons on U.S. soil, Harbour Town Golf Links is the one that pops to the forefront of my mind, but it’s not a perfect comparison. I have also seen TPC Sawgrass and Scottsdale used as correlative courses.
