PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for the BMW Championship
Who is your favorite golfer to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Matthew Fitzpatrick
stlcardinals84: Ludvig Aberg
Jbails26: Ludvig Aberg
hondizzle: Xander Schauffele
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I don’t play many large-field tournaments in these small-field, no-cut events. You can find me in the small-field and single-entry streets this week. Due to the relatively cheaper price point and some great cheap value plays, I loved Scottie Scheffler last week. Him winning by 8 strokes was certainly great for the bankroll. This week, I find it close to impossible to build a lineup that I feel good about with Scheffler, so I am going to build a balanced lineup. I expect him to be north of 40% owned in small-field contests, so I will naturally be different from a large portion of the field.
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 entries in large-field tournaments. These small fields are not my favorite events, but there is still plenty of DFS money to be won. I’ll roll with a condensed pool of 12-15 golfers, and I will be underweight on both Scottie Scheffler (because of price) and Rory McIlroy (because of form) at the top of the board. I also don’t mind leaving a little salary on the table to increase the odds of a unique lineup.
Jbails26: I’ll be in various small-field tournaments, putting a unique lineup into each entry. I’ll be mixing and matching a lot of the golfers in the expensive tiers, particularly Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Cameron Young, and Matthew Fitzpatrick. From there, I’ll build out the rest of my rosters, trying to get 1-2 contrarian pieces into each lineup. I’ll wait until pOWN% starts to settle more later in the week before I make any final decisions on those players.
hondizzle: My interest level tends to drop as the fields get smaller, so I’ll only be playing a few lineups across various 3-max tournaments this week. I like Scottie Scheffler, as you probably should every week, but with only a handful of lineups in play, I’m going to take the risk and fade him. Coming off an 8-shot win last week, he’s once again reminding everyone why he’s the top player in the world. Still, I’ll just hope we get a somewhat down week from him and try to gain leverage elsewhere. My approach will be to get at least one lower-owned golfer into each lineup while also playing around with leaving a little more salary on the table to create builds that are less likely to be duplicated.
