PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for THE PLAYERS Championship
Who is your favorite golfer to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Russell Henley
stlcardinals84: Collin Morikawa
Jbails26: Collin Morikawa
hondizzle: Scottie Scheffler
3. Who is your favorite golfer (when considering price, key stats, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Russell Henley – I am getting a weird Spidey sense that Henley is going to run away with this event the same way that Webb Simpson did in 2018. He made so many putts and ended up winning by 4 strokes. Henley is 2nd in my model this week, yet he has just the 10th-highest salary on DraftKings and the 13th-highest salary on FanDuel. He’s top 15 in this field in Good Drive %, Strokes Gained: Approach, and Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green. He’s also 6th in the field in bermuda putting over the last 2 years. He has 4 top-20 finishes in 5 events this year and 2 top-20 finishes at this event in the last 4 years.
stlcardinals84: Si Woo Kim – Even when he wasn’t in the best form of his career, it seemed like Kim would always show up on Pete Dye courses. He’s loved them his whole career. Now we have a Pete Dye design and Kim playing the best golf of his career. He hasn’t missed a cut in his 7 events this season and has 5 top-20 finishes to go along with that. He’s a past champion at TPC Sawgrass and has a solid statistical profile across the board. I love starting lineups with him, especially since the top two golfers are suddenly battling some question marks.
Jbails26: Collin Morikawa – I’m really leaning toward strong iron play (shocking) and guys who are accurate off the tee. Morikawa fits that mold perfectly, ranking 9th in Data Golf’s True Strokes Gained: Approach and 7th in Driving Accuracy over his last 50 rounds. His form has been solid following his win at Pebble Beach, finishing T7 at The Genesis and 5th at the API.
hondizzle: Scottie Scheffler – For me this season, it has always been about how you handle Scheffler in terms of whether it makes sense for your overall roster construction. He is the best player in this field, and I want exposure until it becomes apparent that going a different route is a better play. After a few weeks of having to build Scheffler lineups with a much smaller player pool, I find this larger pool much easier to use to build stars-and-scrubs lineups that include Scheffler.
