PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for the Wyndham Championship

Who is your favorite contrarian golfer (when considering price, key stats, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Billy Horschel – I was ready to fade Billy Ho a couple of weeks ago at the 3M Open. I was worried about a hangover after he finished 2nd at The Open Championship. However, he withdrew from the event and has now had three weeks to rest up and get ready for the final stretch of the season. He’s long been one of the streakiest players on TOUR and is in some great form. Over his last 10 events, he has a win and three more top 10 finishes. He seems to love Sedgefield Country Club, as he’s finished T11 or better in 5 of his last 7 appearances at this event.

stlcardinals84: Nick Dunlap – Dunlap has had a volatile start to his PGA TOUR career, but he is a talented golfer who has already showcased his upside. He has two wins already in 2024, with one coming at the Barracuda Championship in an alternate field event just three weeks ago. He also has a pair of additional top fifteen finishes in the last two months. He sits 65th in the playoff standings right now and needs a solid week in order to secure his FedEx Cup Playoff eligibility. I really like him as a contrarian option this week.

JBails26: Cam Young – I hate using Cam when he is expected to be the chalk, so this feels like the week to fire him up when he’s projecting as a poor value relative to the other golfers around him. He has the ability to nuke any course, but whether or not he actually will is a different story. He’s a tough one to click since he doesn’t grade out well in some of the secondary metrics I am looking at. However, he’s still an elite iron player. At his pOWN%, it won’t take much to match or go overweight vs. the field.

hondizzle: Will Zalatoris – I feel like this is a good week to really go a bit different than most of the chalk plays. Despite the lack of many truly great spots you can attack with clear certainty, there will still be more chalk on some questionable golfers this week. I am not saying that I would not roster chalk this week, but I am happy to take players like Will Zalatoris at both a discount in price and ownership. During his press conference today, Zalatoris talked about how this year has been a learning curve. Playing with a new swing and trying to listen to his body has been a challenge. That being said, Will Zalatoris is still a talented golfer who has a lot left to play for this season.

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
