PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for the World Wide Technology Championship
Who is your favorite golfer to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Benjamin James
stlcardinals84: Ryan Gerard
Jbails26: Ryan Gerard
hondizzle: Ryan Gerard
Who is your favorite golfer (when considering price, key stats, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Benjamin James – After posting 3 top-5 finishes in a row, James missed the cut in Bermuda as the highest-owned golfer. He nearly missed the cut again last week, but he rallied on Friday to make it on the number. He played well over the weekend and moved up into a tie for 16th. His statistics are elite across the board, and he won everything you could win in college. The sky is the limit for him now that he’s on TOUR. He’s 1st in the field in Strokes Gained per round on driver-heavy courses, so I love his chances this week.
stlcardinals84: Jackson Koivun – The budding star had a fantastic summer and a great Presidents Cup debut. It seemed like everything was pointing upward for him, only for an underwhelming T65 in his last start in Utah. Fatigue likely set in after a whirlwind year, and Koivun should now be rested and recharged after basically a whole month off from competitive golf. His long-term statistics are still fantastic across the board, and his talent sets up well in a potential birdie-fest event. Don’t sleep on Koivun in his fall return.
Jbails26: Christiaan Bezuidenhout – I wrote Bezuidenhout up as my favorite contrarian play last week (finished T19), but now he’s just my favorite play. Bez is a great course fit for this venue, and his price point works with any sort of roster build you’re looking to make. He enters the week ranking 14th in Data Golf’s True Total Strokes Gained, but more importantly, he’s 6th in True Strokes Gained: Approach over his last 50 rounds.
hondizzle: Benjamin James – James is one of my favorite plays on the board because of the upside he brings relative to his price. He’s shown the ability to pile up birdies, which is exactly what I’m looking for in DraftKings’ scoring. At $9,900, he also gives me some flexibility in roster construction compared to the highest-priced options. I’m willing to embrace a little volatility in exchange for legitimate winning upside, particularly in a field like this.
