PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Hero World Challenge

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

Notorious: We don’t have any ShotLink data to work with this week, but we do have the old school numbers from past tournaments at this course. The fairways here are quite wide, and golfers hit them at a 73% clip last season. However, golfers were only able to hit the greens in regulation at a 62% clip. There are a lot of tight lies around these greens, so a tidy short game and the ability to scramble from the fairway should come in handy this week.

STLCardinals84: This is a random exhibition event with 20 golfers in the first week of December. There are no real trends or stats that predict success in this event. Your best bet in GPP formats is to go with some of the golfers that will be lower owned given the unpredictable nature of it. Otherwise, if you’re into the stats, this is a tournament where we often see low scores and plenty of birdies. We also will be seeing the return of Will Zalatoris and Tiger Woods after long injury layoffs, so it will be interesting to see how they perform.

Who is your top contrarian golfer (when considering price, key stats, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
