PGA DFS Round 4 Showdown Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for the Masters
Who is your favorite golfer for cash games?
Notorious: Cameron Young
stlcardinals84: Cameron Young
Jbails26: Cameron Young
hondizzle: Sam Burns
Who is your top overall golfer (when considering price, key stats, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Cameron Young – Young was 4-over par at one point on Thursday. Since then, he’s gone 15-under par (which is by far the best in the field). I know it’s tough to back up a super low round at Augusta National, but all parts of his game are firing at the moment. He’s one of the best drivers of the ball in the field, his iron play has been elite, and his short game continues to improve. I think we see the 3rd straight year where the winner of THE PLAYERS wins the Masters.
stlcardinals84: Cameron Young – Well, this tournament sure looks a lot different than it did 24 hours ago when Rory McIlroy had a 6-stroke lead over the field. Young had a blistering Saturday round, and when combined with McIlroy’s fade, Young is now tied for the lead. He showed his newfound confidence by closing out a Sunday win at THE PLAYERS a few weeks ago, and that should help him immensely as he chases a green jacket. He’s cheaper than Rory and makes for a great starting point.
Jbails26: Cameron Young – I like Young to win this, and he’s currently 2nd in the field in Data Golf’s True Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green for the tournament. He will be chalky, but his price allows you to fit in contrarian pieces elsewhere, especially if you are looking to get contrarian with a high-priced golfer.
hondizzle: Sam Burns – You can make a strong case for anyone within 4 shots of the lead heading into Sunday at Augusta, and Burns fits that profile perfectly; not being in the final pairing and coming in at a lower price than Cameron Young should make him an easy piece to build around. I like the idea of backing a chaser here, especially with Burns having been in position to win a major on Sunday within the past year, and this feels like a real opportunity for him to finally close the door and get his first. Full disclosure: I like Cameron Young as well, but it’s tough to follow up a 7-under round with another low one the next day, especially at Augusta, where Sunday tends to have a way of humbling even the hottest players.
