PGA DFS Round 4 Showdown Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for The Open Championship

Who is your favorite golfer for cash games?

Notorious: Sam Burns
stlcardinals84: Sam Burns
Jbails26: Sam Burns
hondizzle: Sam Burns

Who is your top overall golfer (when considering price, key stats, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Notorious: Sam Burns – Burns has been in contention several times this season, including at a couple of the majors. He should certainly feel more comfortable sleeping on the lead than most. That doesn’t mean he’s going to come out and get the job done on Sunday, but he’s currently 2 shots ahead and is the best putter in the world. If the ball striking shows up on Sunday, he’s going to be tough to beat. Ultimately, he’s too cheap for his talent level and where he sits on the leaderboard.

stlcardinals84: Sam Burns – It’s tough to ignore Burns given that he enters Sunday with the lead. His DFS salary doesn’t break the bank, and he is about to record his 5th consecutive top-20 finish. Throw in his consistently elite short game, and there’s a good chance he holds the lead and wins.

Jbails26: Sam Burns – Burns makes the most sense at his salary, especially when you combine it with his lead. Most importantly, he’s just an all-around solid golfer. He enters Round 4 leading the field in Strokes Gained: Approach and no worse than 28th in any of the other Strokes Gained categories.

hondizzle: Sam Burns – For the Sunday Showdown slate, I’m building around Sam Burns. He enters the final round with a 2-shot lead, looking to capture his first major championship. He’s shown complete control of his game, posting rounds of 62 and 65 over the last two days. I expect Burns to stay aggressive rather than protect the lead, giving him tremendous birdie upside while also carrying the highest win equity on the slate. In Showdown, I want the golfer with the best chance to post another low round and collect the finishing position bonus, and Burns checks both boxes.

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
