Travelers Championship
Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?
Notorious: I don’t have one specific trend or statistic, so I’ll give an overview on my thoughts. If you are looking for comp courses this week, there is quite a bit of crossover between leaderboards at TPC Scottsdale and Riviera Country Club. I will also be looking at history on Pete Dye tracks. This week’s course (TPC River Highlands) is very short at just over 6,800 yards. The fairways are easy to hit (67%), the greens are easy to hit (67%), and there are very few three-putts here. Most of the approaches will come from 125-175 yards and around the green play will be important (statistically harder to scramble here than the PGA Tour average).
STLCardinals84: The top four approach players from last week are all in the field once again at TPC River Highlands. Those four players? Niemann, Redman, Garcia, and Ancer. Abraham Ancer gained a whopping TWELVE strokes on approach at Harbour Town and nearly won the tournament despite losing strokes on and around the greens. It was a truly incredible iron display from him. I have my doubts about whether he can keep up this level of play, but he certainly merits his rising DFS price tags. Redman and Niemann are intriguing values for this event.
