PGA DFS GPP Breakdown: Baycurrent Classic
Long-time grinder, stlcardinals84, breaks down his top PGA DFS picks in various price ranges for this week’s tournament. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below!
Welcome back, PGA DFS enthusiasts! We have a new event on the fall 2025 PGA TOUR schedule. This week, the PGA TOUR heads to Japan for the Baycurrent Classic, held at the newly adopted Yokohama Country Club. This tournament uses a composite routing, with the first 16 holes coming from the “West” Course and the final 2 coming from the “East” Course. This spot used to be occupied by the ZOZO Championship, which was held in a different location.
Yokohama is a strange setup, with only 2 par 5s and 3 par 3s, so that means we have a whopping 13 par 4s on the scorecard. Many of them are long, and 10 of the final 11 holes on the scorecard are par 4s (both par 5s are in the first 6 holes). I’ve never seen a setup like this used on the PGA TOUR, but Yokohama has been used on the Japanese Tour quite a few times. This is also a limited-field event, with only 78 golfers in the field and no cut. That means all golfers will be guaranteed 4 rounds of golf barring a withdrawal.

Given that this is largely a new course for everyone, I’ll lean on the traditional tee-to-green metrics as my priorities. Bad putters tend to be at less of a disadvantage on a course where very few golfers are familiar with the greens. Given the plethora of par 4s, I will also look at Par 4 Scoring, Birdie or Better Percentage, and Bogey Avoidance. Current form is certainly a bonus as well.
With a limited field, international travel for many golfers, and no cut, I will also not be afraid to embrace variance. In your tournament builds, don’t shy away from targeting options who are projecting some lower ownership. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites!

PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel GPP Breakdown for the Baycurrent Classic
Hideki Matsuyama
DraftKings: $10,400
FanDuel: $11,800
Matsuyama is always comfortable playing on home turf in Japan, and he won the ZOZO Championship back in 2021. Even though that event was played on a different course, it still goes to show his comfort level in Japan. It also helps that he found quite a bit of form over the summer, as he hasn’t missed a cut in any of his past 11 starts. His last 8 worldwide starts have all resulted in top-30 finishes. It’s progress after a tough previous season. Over the last 36 rounds, he ranks 2nd in this field in approach play behind only Kurt Kitayama, the latter of whom will likely be extremely popular this week. I have no qualms about starting tournament builds with Matsuyama.
