PGA DFS GPP Breakdown: Butterfield Bermuda Championship
Long-time grinder, stlcardinals84, breaks down his top PGA DFS picks in various price ranges for this week’s tournament. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below!
The fall, PGA DFS season continues this week, but we have just two more weeks to make it count before the winter break! The PGA TOUR leaves the United States this week for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. This will be the sixth edition of this event, with Brendon Todd, Brian Gay, Lucas Herbert, Seamus Power, and Camilo Villegas being the winners of the first five editions. That alone tells you that this is something of an unpredictable event. Todd and Gay were two of the shortest hitters on the PGA TOUR even in their primes, while Herbert and Power bring a little more distance off the tee. Villegas came out of nowhere for this victory. That list of past winners also tells you that we generally don’t see a strong field assembled for this tournament, as they could not even fill the full field a few years back.

As for the players who are partaking in the tournament, Port Royal Golf Course will be the host venue for the sixth consecutive year. This is a very short par 71 layout, as it does not even touch 7,000 yards from the tips. Some golfers have compared it to Harbour Town without all the trees – meaning we have narrow landing areas which will often take driver out of the golfers’ hands off the tee. Approach play and ball striking will be the name of the game, and there will be plenty of birdies available. Even though heavy coastal winds provide some defense for the course, we still saw -24 as a winning score and -2 as a cut line in the inaugural edition. The wind has been more of a factor in some of the last few editions though, with -15 being the winning score twice before the winner got back to -24 a year ago.
Keep an eye on this week’s forecast to see if there ends up being a potential weather edge with the wind. As of now, it seems like it is going to be very windy on at least two days of the tournament, so this could be a factor.

PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel GPP Breakdown for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship
Ben Griffin
DraftKings: $9,700
FanDuel: $11,300
Griffin just continues to produce steady results. He has now made the cut in seven of his last eight starts, and three of the last four have been T24 or better. Over the last 36 rounds, he ranks sixth in this field on approach and 8th in total strokes gained. He has made the cut in each of his two previous trips to Bermuda, finishing T3 two years ago and T37 last year. He has gained more than 14 strokes over field average in those two starts. Griffin is one of the most talented golfers in this field and remains an elite option to start your lineup builds.
Lucas Glover
DraftKings: $9,400
FanDuel: $10,800
Lucas Glover is the highest ranked player based on Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) in this field. That’s partly a testament to how well his game has been trending this year, but it’s also somewhat of an indictment on the field strength. I actually expected him to be the most expensive golfer on the board, but he is not. Therefore, I think there is value in these salary tags. Though his finishes haven’t been elite, he has made the cut here in each of the last two editions, and he is playing better golf right now. He ranks second in this field on approach over the last six months, and he is dialed in right now with four straight top-25 finishes on his ledger this fall.
