PGA DFS DraftKings GPP Breakdown: Masters
Long-time grinder, stlcardinals84, breaks down his top PGA DFS picks in various price ranges for this week’s tournament. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below!
The long wait is over! We have arrived at the first full week of April, which means only one thing… It’s Masters Week! With MLB also in full swing and the NBA/NHL playoffs around the corner, times are good on the sports calendar right now. Let the good times begin!
As usual, the year’s first major contains a somewhat limited field. We have a field of 95 golfers assembled for this tournament, which is actually somewhat high for the Masters. The last two years have featured a pool of 89 golfers. As for the course, we all know about Augusta National Golf Club. This layout will test every aspect of a golfer’s game. From trees to hazards to speedy, difficult greens to narrow landing areas, every weakness will be exposed by this course.
I am much more inclined to value course history at this unique venue, though current form is also a factor. I’m not going to blindly turn to course history at the expense of every statistical measure, but experience has value here. How will the LIV golfers fare this year? There are plenty of fun story lines to follow. As for the types of golfers to hone in on, when all-around ability comes into play, it’s easy to look at Strokes Gained: Tee to Green and Ball Striking as key metrics. However, short game and bogey avoidance can also be mixed in on this difficult course. Par 5 scoring is also key, as the par 5s are by far the easiest scoring holes on this course.
Thanks to the smaller field of golfers, it’s worth noting that the cut rule at the Masters is that the top 50 and ties make the weekend. In addition, there are also some amateurs, past champions, and older golfers in the mix, and many of those players are already unlikely to make the cut. I say this to emphasize that the majority of the good golfers will likely make the cut this week. Getting all six of your golfers to the weekend is paramount in a tournament where a good majority of players will survive to play four days.
Let’s discuss some of my favorite DraftKings GPP picks for this fun week of golf!
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings GPP Breakdown for the Masters
Collin Morikawa – $10,500
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the obvious options at the top, but I don’t think Collin Morikawa is too far behind them. He has finished inside the top 20 in each of the last four Masters and has gained around 35 strokes over the field average in those starts. Over the last 36 rounds, he ranks 7th in this field on approach and 8th around the green, and his irons are elite. I’ll happily take the discount and start lineups with Morikawa, especially if he ends up checking in with lower ownership in GPP builds. You can do a lot with the savings (especially from Scheffler), and Morikawa is very much capable of winning this tournament.
Bryson DeChambeau – $9,900
It will be interesting to see how the masses handle the LIV regulars this week. We simply haven’t seen these players much of late, and they aren’t listed in the PGA TOUR stats for the year. Our early ownership projections have DeChambeau in the 10% range, which I will take any day of the week. That is very low for his ceiling. Back when nobody liked DeChambeau, he famously called Augusta a “par 68” for his ability to score on the par-5 holes. The course quickly humbled him, but his experience has proven fruitful. He finished with a career-best T6 a year ago and was the first-round leader. It is no secret that distance is an advantage at Augusta, and DeChambeau now has the veteran presence and experience to go along with it. He is my favorite bet to win at his current odds and is a great GPP DFS option.
Shane Lowry – $8,800
There seems to be a notion out there that Shane Lowry isn’t quite on the level of other top golfers in the world. I’m not sure what he has to do in order to dispel those claims, as Lowry continually puts up strong results. He has made the cut in each of his last 6 starts in 2025, and all but one of those has resulted in a top-20 finish. He also has a strong track record at Augusta, as he has made the cut in each of the last 5 editions, with 4 top-25 finishes in that span. Lowry doesn’t fit the mold of the typical bomber who can succeed here, but he makes up for it with his clever play and creativity. He’s a spectacular mid-range option in your GPP builds.
Corey Conners – $7,900
We meet again. It’s the annual tradition of Corey Conners always playing well in the spring and being priced under $8,000 on DraftKings for the Masters. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Conners has made the cut in 4 of the last 5 editions of this tournament, with a trio of top-10 finishes in that span. He ranks 7th in this field off the tee over the last 36 rounds, and his elite tee to green play is going to keep him in the mix. It will all come down to the sometimes shaky putter — and if he’s putting it well, he could be a dark horse contender come Sunday afternoon.
Sungjae Im – $7,300
This one is definitely a GPP-only play. Sungjae Im has been very poor with his irons of late, ranking near the bottom of this field in near-term statistical metrics. However, he is nowhere near THAT bad in the long term. In addition, his off the tee numbers are strong, and his around the green numbers are very good. If he can dial in the irons, he can get back to being an elite option again. I’m taking a shot on the talent, the discount, and the low ownership, especially since Im has shown well in the Masters in previous years, with a T2, T8, and T16 in 3 of his last 5 visits.
Taylor Pendrith – $6,700
The early spring form was a bit concerning, with Pendrith having a few lackluster finishes in a row, but he put those doubts to bed with a strong T5 his last time out in Houston. While I don’t “love” ANY first-timers at Augusta, the good news is that Pendrith is super affordable at just $6,700 on DraftKings. He’s too cheap given his talent level, and he fits the bomber mold that should suit Augusta well. For those reasons, Pendrith is the one Masters debutante that I feel comfortable with at the back end of GPP builds.

DraftKings Millionaire Maker Strategy
One of the fun parts about playing Masters GPP contests on DraftKings is that they are offering THREE Millionaire Maker contests this week at completely different entry fee price points – $10 (with 470,588 max entrants), $100 (with 27,777 max entrants), and $3,333 (with 1,334 max entrants). A different strategy element comes to the table with all of these.
- At a $10 buy-in with over 400,000 players, you really need to focus on being unique. Leave some salary on the table. Maybe fade Rory McIlroy or Scottie Scheffler. Do something bold. The winning lineups in these contests often don’t seem optimal at first glance, but fortune favors the bold in these more often than not.
- At a $100 buy-in with around 27,000 players, you may not need to focus on being different quite as much, but it is worth noting that this one is the most top-heavy of the three offerings. The $10 and $3,333 buy-in both have $4,000,000 in total prizes, but this one has $2,500,000 in total prizes. As such, I’ll still be treating this one about the same as the one with a $10 buy-in. Be different. Play a few golfers that are going to be owned in the single-digit percentages.
- At a $3,333 buy-in with only 1,334 players, being different is not necessarily the focus for this tournament. In fact, I’d be willing to just play my “optimal” lineup with maybe a cap on my total ownership projection at around 80%. Throw in one low-owned golfer that you have some conviction on, and you should be well on your way. Our LineupHQ tools and projected ownership make the projected ownership for your entire lineup easy to calculate.
Good luck and have fun!
