Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top PGA DFS picks in various price ranges for this week’s tournament. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below.

Welcome back, golf fans! The FedEx Cup playoffs began last week with a flourish, as Lucas Glover won his second straight tournament with a playoff victory at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He has quickly gotten himself into the Ryder Cup Captain’s Pick discussion.

This week, the remaining 50 playoff participants will tee it up at Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois. This tournament rotates venues every year, and Olympia Fields has not hosted a major men’s professional golf event since this tournament was contested here in 2020. Jon Rahm won in a playoff at a score of just FOUR under par. Olympia Fields is a beastly par 70 layout that measures over 7,300 yards from the tips. Both par fives can play to 600+ yards. There is a par three that can play to 250+ yards. Both distance and accuracy will be important, and I don’t expect this course to play nearly as easy as TPC Boston did a week ago. Total driving, ball striking, and around the green play are the main statistical measures I will be looking at.

With only 50 golfers available for this event, ownership will start to be more condensed. That makes it harder to find true low-owned gems, but don’t be afraid to get somewhat creative this week given the small field and the no-cut format.

Let’s take a look at some of my favorite GPP plays for this second playoff event!

When you factor in likely lower ownership than Scheffler and McIlroy, I really like Rahm at the top of the board this week. He played well last week after one uneven round, and I tend to like him better on harder tracks. That is obviously what we have this week, and Rahm just happened to win the last time this event was played at Olympia Fields in 2020. The overall statistical metrics are still rock solid throughout, and he’s my pick to win.

Out of curiosity, I went back and found my 2020 article for this tournament, and I actually wrote up Rahm then, too. He won last time, and he can win again.

For what it’s worth, here’s a snippet of what I wrote three years ago:
