PGA DFS GPP Breakdown: The RSM Classic
Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top PGA DFS picks in various price ranges for this week’s tournament. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below.
Welcome back, golf fans! This will represent our final week together for the 2023 calendar year, as the brief winter break arrives after this event. This gives us one last chance to make some golf money this year! The RSM Classic is on the table for us this week, and we do have a decent field assembled compared to some of the other fall swing tournaments. It should be a fun cap to a crazy year.
As for the event, this tournament will be played on two courses prior to the cut. That is necessary in order for the tournament to allow a full 156 golfer field while still being able to finish the rounds during the limited daylight hours that we have at this time of year. The Seaside Course will host both weekend rounds, while each player will play one round on the Plantation Course prior to the cut. Both courses are short at around 7,000 yards, while the Seaside Course is a par 70 and the Plantation Course is a par 72. Both courses tend to play relatively easy, averaging between 1-2 strokes under par per round depending on weather conditions. As always, scores get worse if the winds pick up. Most golfers agree that this venue does not prioritize distance off the tee. Ball striking and approach play will once again be paramount, as is usually the case on these shorter courses. Course history is also a bit of a bonus here, as the same golfers do tend to play well here quite often (look at the history of players like Webb Simpson and Kevin Kisner, who naturally aren’t long hitters off the tee). Many PGA Tour players tend to reside in this area also, and those players obviously will have a lot of familiarity with the two tracks that are being used.
Let’s take a peek at some of my favorite GPP options for the RSM Classic! Enjoy the winter break, and we’ll see you back here in January!
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel GPP Breakdown for The RSM Classic
Ludvig Aberg
DraftKings: $10,900
FanDuel: $12,100
Yahoo: $46
Aberg has been one of the highest-priced options on the board for what seems like every fall swing event, and that’s not going to change this week. In his three fall starts since the Ryder Cup, he has finished T2, T13, and T10. He hasn’t missed a cut on American soil all season, as his only miss was at the Scottish Open. He’s added a plethora of additional top 25 finishes, as well. Over the last 36 rounds, he ranks 4th in this field in tee to green play, and both the floor and the ceiling are tough to argue. If you are able to spend top dollar on a golfer this week, Aberg is a fine choice.
