Top-ranked grinder, STLCardinals84, will break down his top PGA DFS picks in various price ranges for this week’s tournament. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below.

Welcome back, golf fans! Just one short week after the Ryder Cup, the PGA Tour fall season is back with the Sanderson Farms Championship. In the past, this tournament had generally been held as a secondary event alongside a WGC event or a major, but the 2020 schedule changes allowed this event to be held as a standalone tournament. This will be the fourth consecutive year of that treatment, which gives us slightly stronger fields than what you see for a secondary event. However, with this one being the week after a Ryder Cup, it feels like the field is a bit weaker than it has been over the past couple of years.

As for the host course, Country Club of Jackson is a moderate length par 72, but it shouldn’t play as a difficult venue. In fact, the winning score has checked in at 18-under par or better in each of the last eight editions of the event — and remember that is with a generally weak field competing every year. Ball striking and birdie opportunities will be the name of the game, and this is another potential birdie fest that could turn into a putting contest. However, one thing that has been noted over the years is that bombers do have an advantage at this venue. There are four reachable par fives here, and there is very little trouble to be found. Bombs away! I will be prioritizing golfers who are good drivers of the ball and bring good form into this tournament. Scoring will be the name of the game.

Let’s get to some of my favorite PGA DFS picks of the week!

The answer to this question is wide open this week, as I think you could make a case for about eight golfers in this spot. I’m too nervous to go with Ludvig Aberg the week after an emotional Ryder Cup win, so gave me a safer choice in Jaeger as my #1 golfer on the board this week. I never thought I would write that sentence, but here we are. Jaeger is coming off a season where he missed just three cuts in 30 starts, and he also posted a pair of top tens among nine top 25’s. Over the last 36 rounds, he ranks 4th in this field from tee to green, and he has also finished 26th and 30th in the last two editions of this event. Keep in mind that both of those were also before he was in the kind of form that he is now. He has a nice combination of safety and upside here.
