Welcome back to the PGA DFS Tournament Breakdown! The second FedExCup Playoff event is upon us this week after Scottie Scheffler dominated his way to his 2nd victory of 2026 in Memphis to begin the playoff proceedings. The top 50 players in the standings have qualified for this 2nd playoff event, the BMW Championship. All 50 have secured spots in all the “signature events” for 2027, and they will be competing this week for a spot in the TOUR Championship next week for the top 30 players in the standings. It should be fun to see how this week goes, as we have another no-cut event on the schedule.

Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri will be the host venue for this event. This tournament rotates venues every year, and Bellerive will be hosting PGA TOUR golfers for the first time since the 2018 PGA Championship. Brooks Koepka won that event with a 16-under par score for the week, and the cut came in at even par. However, Bellerive has undergone significant renovations since then, with 14 holes being lengthened since 2018. I do not expect this course to play as a cakewalk.

Bellerive is going to be set up as a par 70 that stretches to over 7,400 yards from the tips. This has me placing more of an emphasis on distance this week, with total driving and Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee being primary drivers for my analysis. Ball striking carries plenty of weight as well, and I won’t value around-the-green play as much on a course that has larger green complexes.

Let’s dig in and see what the 2nd playoff event has in store for tournament options!

PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Tournament Breakdown for the BMW Championship

Tommy Fleetwood
DraftKings: $10,900
FanDuel: $11,600

PGA TOUR Golfer Tommy Fleetwood

The narrative was always that Tommy Fleetwood couldn’t win in the United States, but he conquered that by winning last year’s FedExCup finale at East Lake. I’m sure he would still like to win a high-profile, full-field event, but the playoff wins pay handsomely too. Over the last 36 rounds, Fleetwood ranks in the top half of this field in every strokes gained category. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks inside the top 20 in all of them. His tee-to-green metrics have been great, and he has now finished 14th or better in 7 consecutive starts. Throw in his playoff success from last year and his likelihood to be a quick study on a new course layout, and I like his odds for success again this week. Relatively low projected ownership as Tuesday evening is an added bonus.
