PGA DFS Tournament Breakdown: Cadillac Championship

Long-time grinder, stlcardinals84, breaks down his top PGA DFS tournament picks in various price ranges on DraftKings & FanDuel for the Cadillac Championship. Which golfers should you be targeting to try and take down the big DFS tournaments? Find out below!
Hello, golf fans! Welcome back to the PGA DFS tournament breakdown article! We have yet ANOTHER elevated event this week, and I must get a rant out at the beginning of this week’s article.
It’s too much.
I know the PGA TOUR was trying to compete with LIV by offering more of these elevated events with bigger total prize money for the golfers, but it really takes away from us DFS players with all these events with 70-80 golfers and no cut. We need a proper Friday cut sweat! I am not trying to be selfish with this, but it had to be said. I know most DFS players agree with this take, so at least I am not alone.
In any case, the field we have is the field we have, and that’s yet another limited field with no cut for the Cadillac Championship. Trump National Doral (also known as the “Blue Monster”) will be the host course for this one. We have not seen this course used in the PGA TOUR rotation since the WGC event back in 2016, so at least that’s something different that we can look forward to. There will be a little bit of guesswork involved as to how the course will play, but at least we have some historical data (even if it is a decade old). This is one of the longest courses that is used on TOUR, and Torrey Pines is a reasonable comparative course in terms of length and difficulty.
I will be prioritizing the bombers and ball strikers this week, with total driving as a huge metric that I am looking at. Length off the tee plays well here, and keeping it in the fairway is also important. That is why I like looking at a combination of distance and accuracy. Good drive percentage is also a bonus, as is strong current form. Let’s take a dive into some of my favorite GPP options!
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Tournament Breakdown for the Cadillac Championship
Cameron Young
DraftKings: $10,200
FanDuel: $11,800

If this event were being played 2-3 years ago, I don’t think I would be able to trust Cameron Young. However, he has matured so much over those couple of seasons, and it is great to see him playing well. He backed up a win at THE PLAYERS with a T3 at the Masters, and Young is always at an advantage on courses that emphasize distance. Over the last 36 rounds, Young leads this field in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee. He leads this field in total driving. He is 8th in good drive percentage. He now has the confidence to close out an event when he’s in the mix. I love all the trends here, and he’s my official pick to win.
