PGA DFS Value Plays: 3M Open
Micah Bedard (Darddog) is here to pinpoint the best PGA DFS salary savers for this week’s 3M Open.
In the words of Larry David, it feels pretty, pretty, pretty good to write up a winner in the value plays article. The golf gods must have been trying to right the wrong of Bobby Mac having the Scottish Open ripped away from him by Rory.
Brian Harman played the tournament of his life at Royal Liverpool, running away with The Open Championship by six shots. While I won’t pretend I was the only guy on Harmdog last week (he was chalky if anything) it doesn’t make it any less sweet.
I doubt there’s a bigger change of venues this whole PGA Tour season- this week the tour stops in Blaine, Minnesota for the 3M Open. These pros will go from a links course with no water to a setup where water is in play on 13 holes.
It’s also time for guys to realize (if they haven’t already) that there’s only two more chances left to secure their spot in the top 70 of the FedEx Cup to qualify for the playoffs. So a bit of a theme you will catch onto with a few of my value guys are ones who need to play well down the stretch to secure a playoff spot.
All different types of players can succeed here, and course history isn’t really a thing I will be weighing too heavily except for a few guys. I would also keep an eye on the weather, as it looks like guys teeing off Thursday AM and finishing up Friday PM could have a bit of a wind advantage.
Let’s get into some PGA DFS value plays under $7,500 on DK and $9,000 on FD to give your lineups an edge this week at the 3M Open.
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Value Plays for the 3M Open
Christiaan Bezuidenhout
DraftKings: $7,500
FanDuel: $8,800
Bez has definitely not had a great season, evidenced by his 102nd spot in the current FedEx Cup standings. When his ball striking shows up however, he has some real upside. He made the cut at The Open last week, and hopefully that will give him some momentum to close out strongly in the final two events. I like him here because he avoids the big numbers, something you need to watch out for at TPC Twin Cities. You get a nice price discount on FD, so I like him a bit more there.
