PGA DFS Value Plays: BMW Championship

Micah Bedard (Darddog) is here to pinpoint the best PGA DFS salary-savers for this week’s BMW Championship.

I guess last week was not the week to jump off Lucas Glover, as he went back-to-back at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, locking up his spot for the rest of the playoffs. It was really a spectacle of par saves by him on Sunday. I kept thinking he was going to ease up, and he kept finding a way to fight back.

This is why I love the current playoff format. Glover was well outside the top 70 at the beginning of the Wyndham Championship and now finds himself at No. 4 in the FedEx Cup Playoff standings.

It was a so-so week for the value plays, as everyone pretty much finished in the middle of the pack. As I have mentioned, I am not a fan of the no-cut fields because you do not get to experience the cut sweats. How is DFS golf fun without the tilt?

After the field of 70 last week, we now trim down to 50 golfers at the BMW Championship, hosted for the second time at Olympia Fields Country Club. I may not be a fan of no-cut events, but I am a big advocate of golf courses that give pros a good test.

It’s clear that Olympia Fields fits that bill, with only five guys finishing under par here in 2020. Jon Rahm beat Dustin Johnson in a playoff, with both players finishing regulation at -4.

There’s been a bit more rain the past couple weeks, and the defending champ at Olympia Fields thinks the course will play a bit different. That’s why I like not leaning too hard into the leaderboard from the last edition here.

DraftKings has also implemented another week where their minimum price reduces down to $5,500. It should make for some interesting roster constructions. I think it will be a bit more contrarian to stay within the normal salary constraints, and that should help you create some unique lineups.

Let’s get into some PGA DFS value plays under $7,500 on DK and $9,000 on FD to give your lineups an edge this week at the BMW Championship.

PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Value Plays for the BMW Championship

Keegan Bradley
DraftKings: $7,100
FanDuel: $9,000

Starting with Keegs, I will put out the disclaimer that, with a 50-man field this week, some golfers are going to look wildly mispriced. Bradley has had one of the most consistent seasons on tour this season and is also fighting for a Ryder Cup spot. He had a ho-hum finish last week in Memphis but did have some great ball-striking stats. I think he’s a good fit at Olympia Fields, and I won’t hold not playing here in 2020 against him.
