PGA DFS Value Plays: The Memorial Tournament

Micah Bedard (Darddog) is here to pinpoint the best salary savers for this weekend’s Memorial Tournament.

I was on a trip for Memorial Day weekend so admittedly did not get to watch a ton of the Charles Schwab. I was not surprised to see Scottie Scheffler in contention yet again.

Emiliano Grillo winning in a playoff definitely did catch me off guard, as he is usually the guy that fades on the weekend. Good for him on locking up the W.

This week we get an event definitely worthy of its elevated event status: the Memorial Tournament. Muirfield Village will host as always, and has been playing with some more teeth since Jack Nicklaus and crew renovated it in 2020.

Length off-the-tee is not a necessity at Muirfield. I would much rather my golfer put the ball in the fairways, no matter where it is, because this rough is definitely no joke. Simple mistakes on this course can be compounded, so it’s not shocking to see great game managers such as Jon Rahm and Patrick Cantlay excel here.

Much like the PGA Championship, I’m looking for guys to limit the mistakes and put the ball in the short grass. And that is especially true when you’re looking at salary savers to plug in the big guns.

This article will help you identify some value options on DK (below $7,500) and FD (below $9,000) to help fill out your lineups for the Memorial Tournament

Bez has always been one of my favorite targets since coming over from the DP World Tour a few years ago. He’s a great ball-striker and is very accurate OTT .His irons have been on fire since The Players. If you take out a horrible putting performance at the PGA Championship, Bez hasn’t missed a cut since March. He finished T-22 here in 2020 before the re-design, and put up a T-37 performance last year. He gained at least a stroke on approach in both of those instances. He lost strokes OTT the last two years, but if he can clean up the driver, he could be in for a good finish on Sunday.
