PGA DFS Value Plays: Tour Championship
Micah Bedard (Darddog) is here to pinpoint the best PGA DFS salary-savers for this week’s Tour Championship.
I almost would have sacrificed all my value plays last week for Denny McCarthy to make his way to the Tour Championship this week. Alas, his T-10 at the BMW Championship last week to fall just short of reaching East Lake.
Reminder, I’m not a fan of these no-cut events from a DFS perspective. However, I’m not that opposed to the format of the Tour Championship this week.
Giving the best golfer all year, Scottie Scheffler, a 2-stroke advantage to start and then the rest of the field staggered behind him gives an interesting layout to crowing a champion.
What’s even more enticing this week is the pricing discrepancy between DK and FD. DK definitely over-emphasized starting positions into their salaries while FD fell asleep at the wheel (shocker) and priced guys almost according to skill level.
Because of this, this article is going to be more DK-centric, and you will see what I mean when you see the prices of some of the “value” plays on DK compared to FD.
So let’s get into some value plays under $7,500 on DK to give your lineups an edge this week at the Tour Championship.
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Value Plays for the Tour Championship
Jason Day
DraftKings: $7,400
FanDuel: $8,400
From the start of the PGA Tour season in January to the Dell Match Play in March, Jason Day was one of the most consistent golfers on tour. Since then, he has been very hit or miss. He won at the AT&T Byron Nelson, followed by three missed cuts, and then T-2 at The Open Championship. He has not played at East Lake since 2018. His history here however is stellar, with no worse than a T-17 finish outside of a WD in 2016. He might be the lowest-owned golfer in the field on DK, and I will be more than happy to load up on him this week.
