PGA DFS Value Plays: U.S. Open
Micah Bedard (Darddog) is here to pinpoint the best PGA DFS salary savers for this week’s U.S. Open.
This PGA Tour season is flying by. It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for the third major of the year, the U.S. Open.
Los Angeles Country Club will be the host this year. It has never hosted a major championship, so there is a lot of speculation based on how the course is going to play. Obviously if it was picked for a U.S. Open, you can assume it’s not going to be a birdie fest.
The Par 3’s at LACC are ridiculous. There are five in total, two that are 280+ yards and then No. 15 that might play as short as ~77 yards. I don’t think this is the prototypical U.S. Open setup however. The course will be very long being a Par 70 at 7,421 yards. Some of the fairways here are very wide and a lot of strategy will be had off the tee to set players up at the right angles to attack these greens.
All in all, I’m looking forward to another great major.
Let’s dive into some value plays under $7,500 on DK and $9,000 on FD to give your lineups an edge this week at LACC.
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Value Plays for the U.S. Open
Denny McCarthy
DraftKings: $7,200
FanDuel: $8,700
By this point, I don’t need to dig deep into why I am a fan of Mr. McPutts once again. He came so close at Memorial, losing in a playoff to Viktor Hovland. Now some might say he putted out of his mind at Muirfield, but the guy is one of the best putters in the world. I’ve mentioned before, his iron game has gotten so much better, and he gained a stroke on approach over the 4 rounds at Memorial. He loves playing tough courses, finishing T-29 at the PGA Championship earlier this year and T-7 at Brookline for the U.S. Open. His price is too cheap for his form lately and he’ll be my highest owned from this range.
