PGA DFS Value Plays: Wyndham Championship
Micah Bedard (Darddog) is here to pinpoint the best PGA DFS salary-savers for this week’s Wyndham Championship.
Always remember what Jeffrey Tambor’s character said in The Hangover: You never walk away from the table when you’re on a heater.
Lee Hodges took the value plays article to the promised land for the second week in a row and did so in convincing fashion. Thanks to a J.T. Poston implosion on the final hole, Hodges captured his first PGA Tour victory by seven strokes at the 3M Open.
I noted in the article last week that Hodges had great upside for GPPs, but even I couldn’t predict how much he dominated for four days in Minnesota.
We have reached the final week of the PGA Tour regular season, and that means it’s time for the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club. You have guys vying not only to get in the FedEx Cup playoffs but also just to secure their PGA Tour card for next season.
Sedgefield is one of the shortest courses on tour, and success here is more predictive than your average PGA Tour stop. Put the ball in play off the tee, and you will be rewarded with a pretty getable golf course. Usually this tournament comes down to who can get hot with the putter over four days.
And if your guy makes a quadruple bogey on the opening hole, don’t tilt. Tom Kim did that on his first hole last year and ended up winning by five strokes, thanks to an elite putting performance.
Let’s get into some PGA DFS value plays under $7,500 on DK and $9,000 on FD to give your lineups an edge this week at the Wyndham Championship.
PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Value Plays for the Wyndham Championship
Lucas Glover
DraftKings: $7,500
FanDuel: $8,600
Glover is one of my favorite GPP plays this week after missing the cut at the 3M Open. Before that, he had recorded three straight T-6 or better performances. He’s played this event forever; 46 competitive rounds to be exact. And while his recent performances at Sedgefield haven’t inspired much confidence, he has shown some upside here in the past. I like him to rebound after the MC last week, and he will come in lower owned than he should be. He’s a great value on FD.
