I have good news if you are a fan of projections — we are now offering showdown projections for rounds two-through-four. These projections will take into account all of the usual inputs in my model (course fit, course history, form, and odds), as well as in-tournament ball striking data and in-tournament odds. The same projections that you see in the table above are available in LineupHQ. All you have to do is click on the link above and in the dropdown box at the top right of the page, click on DraftKings PGA Showdown Projections by Notorious.
We saw the bombers take advantage of Colonial Country Club, but Harbour Town is a different animal. There are quite a few big names sitting outside the cut line, while the top of the leaderboard is littered with shorter hitters. I try not to overreact to a single round of golf, but will certainly be looking at strokes gained approach from the first round. From a roster construction standpoint, you can go balanced or take the stars and scrubs approach. I’m generally more willing to take chances on cheaper golfers in showdown because we don’t have to worry about them missing the cut.
