As someone that has provided DFS analysis, projections, and picks for a very long time, I like to be as transparent as possible. The good news is that the projections for round three liked Hideki Matsuyama, Kevin Chappell, Matthew Wolff, Luke List, and a few others that scored well. The bad news is that I’m not sure I couldn’t have had worse picks. Bryson DeChambeau and Mark Hubbard were fine, but Webb Simpson, Harry Higgs, Lucas Glover, and Cameron Champ all fell short of expectations. There’s no way around it, it was a brutal day of DFS. We have to accept the bad days and move on.
As always, keep in mind that there will be fantasy points awarded for finishing position in round four showdown contests. This changes the strategy quite a bit, but golfers down the leaderboard can easily make up those points with a low round. My plan is to have a nice mix of the current favorites and the golfers that I think can have a big final round and move up the leaderboard. As for the weather, we basically have no wind in the forecast for Sunday. Target your favorite golfers regardless of their tee times.
