PGA DFS: U.S. Open Round 4 Breakdown
Round 4 Preview
I wouldn’t have believed you before round three if you told me that Patrick Reed would hit more fairways than Matthew Wolff and lose to him by 12 strokes. The seven-over par round from Reed was surprising, but Wolff shooting five-under par while only hitting two fairways is nothing short of incredible. In his post-round interview, he mentioned his luck with the lies in the rough and how he always seemed to have a good number on his approach shots. While he’s an obvious play heading into the final round, he’ll need to hit more fairways on Sunday if he’s going to take down his first major championship.
For the weather on Sunday, we are expecting double-digit winds throughout the course of the day. On Saturday, we had stronger winds and colder weather in the morning, which led to much higher scores. On Sunday, it will be chilly in the morning, but there won’t be an edge as far as the wind goes. I usually like to target golfers down the leaderboard in round four showdown because we can play them at discounted price points and low ownership, but with finishing points being so much more valuable, that’s not my strategy this week. Look at it this way, the placement points are the same as they are every week, but the scoring points will be much lower than usual. This makes the placement points immensely more valuable this week in particular.
