PGA DFS Value Breakdown: Farmers Insurance Open

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to the top of the leaderboards. TJ “tjl5124” Laessig, a high stakes DFS grinder, will dive into the player pool, evaluating roster construction and picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

Farmers Insurance Open

After a couple birdie fest tournaments to start the year, golfers head to Torrey Pines, which will be a much more difficult test of the all-around golf game. Just like the American Express, golfers will play two different courses on Thursday/Friday (North Course and South Course) and the top 65 and ties will finish the weekend with 36 more holes on the South Course. The South Course is one of the longer courses on Tour, a par 72 coming in at an over 7,700 yards. I will be looking to target golfers with distance that can bomb it off the tee, while factoring in around the green and scrambling as a secondary metric. I’ll also be factoring in course history a bit more than I typically do given the large sample we have at Torrey Pines. The field is strong, and early ownership projections do not seem to have a ton of concentrated chalk. There are a variety of options, so it is a good week to pick your favorite plays and get overweight. Let’s dive into some of my favorite golfers at $7500 and below on DraftKings.
