PGA DFS Value Breakdown: Safeway Open

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to the top of the leaderboards. Drew “redkacheek” Mathews, the 2018 DraftKings Masters Millionaire Maker winner, will dive into the player pool, picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

Safeway Open

The Safeway Open gets a slight bump in the schedule which presents us with a really nice looking field overall. This event has seen a wide range of eventual winners from “long and wayward” to “short and narrow” so there is really no perfect mold for Silverado CC. Keeping a focus on wedge shots and specific approach distances such as 125-150 will be a great starting point to building your pool. There are also some really bad prices which I will get to below, so let’s take a look at the Values I am most interested in targeting for this 7166 yard Par 72.

Ryan Moore (9100 DK / 7000 FD / 14600 FDRFT / 36 Yahoo)
Let’s get this one out of the way first. Ryan Moore is terribly mispriced on Fanduel. As you can see down this list, most values are still over 8k on Fanduel, yet we have Moore at literally min-price. I have tossed around the options to play him on Fanduel at >40% ownership or play him on DK with a bit of a contrarian approach. To be honest, I think Ryan Moore is an okay option overall but a min-price on Fanduel, I think his probability to exceed vale is probably double his ownership, if not higher. With that said, plug him in on Fanduel and build your lineup from there. This will give you exposure and allow some additional exposure to Cantlay and Thomas that you may not otherwise get.
