PGA DFS Value Breakdown: Sony Open

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to the top of the leaderboards. TJ “tjl5124” Laessig, a high stakes DFS grinder, will dive into the player pool, evaluating roster construction and picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

Sony Open

Last week’s 42-man field was a bit of an appetizer for the 2021 PGA season, and this week we get the main course as we have our first full field event of the calendar year. We will remain in Hawaii, this time for the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club. This is a short par 70 course that should be another birdie fest. This course favors accuracy over distance, and I will be looking to target golfers that are accurate off the tee and have strong approach games. We have a medium-strength field with a few upper tier golfers at the top and several value options in the 7k range. With 144 golfers in the field, 6/6 lineups will be tough to come by, and if we can get all of our golfers through the cut, we should give ourselves a chance at a sweat come Sunday. Let’s check out some of my favorite value plays!
