PGA DFS Value Breakdown: THE PLAYERS Championship

Selecting the absolute best value out there is crucial to cruising to the top of the leaderboards. Drew “redkacheek” Mathews, the 2018 DraftKings Masters Millionaire Maker winner, will dive into the player pool, picking out his favorite value options for the week’s tournament.

THE PLAYERS Championship

We’ve made it! I like THE PLAYERS but for some reason this season, I have really been looking forward to this field and this course. I have had the privilege of playing TPC Sawgrass a few times, and I can honestly say I did not enjoy much of the course. Every shot from Tee to Green requires 100% focus and it can really wear you out. This course is not long by any means, and even with only 3-4 holes per 9 requiring Driver, the average approach will be around 150 yards. This can be misleading with some very short shots and some longer 190-210 yard approaches.

Overall this is a tough course to entirely conjure a course-fit, and for that reason I use a much broader approach to this event. Outside of a few studs that play well here (priced accordingly), there are few consistent performers year after year. This is due to the field strength and the course. I am really looking forward to Thursday and with a lot of big DFS contests, it should hopefully be a fun Sunday. Let’s check out my primary Value targets this week.
