The big story heading into round two is the weather. The forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms starting around 10:00 AM local time with heavier thunderstorms starting around 2:00 PM. The big question is whether they will be able to play through some of the storm or if it will cause delays. This is very important from a showdown perspective, as the morning golfers would have a massive edge if there isn’t a delay in the afternoon. To be honest, the morning wave should still have an edge even if the second half of round two is delayed until Saturday. Starting around 7:00 AM on Saturday, there are 30 MPH gusts in the forecast. Stacking the morning wave isn’t going to be contrarian by any means, but it’s still the right move in my eyes.
