Course Preview

Wow, what a week at the Masters! There are a few moments in each professional sports where you will always remember where you were when you were watching. I’ll never forget where I was when Dustin Johnson three-putted the 18th in the U.S. Open and I will never forget where I was when Jordan Spieth hit two shots into the water on the 12th at the Masters. While you have to feel for Spieth, it was great to see Danny Willett win the green jacket. He should finally start getting the recognition that he deserves. Plus, he was featured in the expert picks last week, so hopefully our incentives members were able to capitalize.

This week the PGA Tour heads to Hilton Head in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. The event will be held at the Harbour Town Golf Links, which is a Par 71 that stretches just 7,100 yards. This is always an interesting event because it brings the shorter hitters back into play. There are narrow fairways and contoured greens, which requires accuracy both off the tee and with your approach shots. To get an idea of the type of golfer that we are looking for, think Matt Kuchar, Jim Furyk, Graeme McDowell, and Luke Donald. They are all shorter hitters that get around the course with accuracy.
